‘Resident Evil 6′ gets $1,300 premium edition complete with leather jacket

Resident Evil 6

Special editions of games let you pay extra for everything from downloadable costumes to tiny Master Chief helmets, but Capcom is taking things a step further by letting you dress up like Resident Evil 6 star Leon Kennedy — all for the low price of ¥105,000 (989.02€ ()). The newly unveiled “premium” edition is available for both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game, and comes with a quartet of character-themed tablet covers and, more importantly, Leon’s leather jacket.

‘Map of the Dead’ tailors Google Maps for zombie apocalypse survival

Map of the Dead

Assuming you still have the internet after the dead have begun to walk the earth, you’ll want to avoid wasting time by searching for hospitals, gas stations, and gun stores one by one. Fortunately, Map of the Dead has got your back — it’s a Google Maps overlay that highlights population-dense “hot zones,” cemeteries and other places to avoid, and the best locations to scavenge supplies. In zombie-infested Chinatown, for example, you can nip over to Manhattan Bridge Orthodontics for a quick retainer adjustment, then seek shelter at the nearby Naval Recruiting Center. There’s also a gun store, which we suppose some people might find useful.

‘Resident Evil 6′ coming November 20, ‘this is Raccoon city all over again’

Resident Evil 6

What happens when you combine developer Hiroyuki Kobayashi, the insidious T-virus, Chris Redfield, Leon Kennedy, and a zombie President of the United States? You get Capcom’s Resident Evil 6, which is coming to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on November 20th, with a PC version to follow. A lengthy trailer for the game shows off the plot, which shows a planet engulfed by bioterrorist attacks, outbreaks in China, a bloodthirsty commander-in-chief, and the return of the series’ most popular heroes. The gameplay looks similar to Resident Evil 4, also directed by Kobayashi, but with a slew of action-packed battles. Now get to that trailer.
